The series ‘Alphabet’ is developed on two basic ideas. On the one hand to open up a new form language through the combination of recurring elements. On the other hand, Lena Policzka defines overlapping, form bending and fanfolding as her own sculptural principles. However, this method of shaping is not visible. Her goal is to contrast the technically bent bodies with an organically appealing material. For this, the sculptures are fused with a lacquered rubber coating to a self-contained form.
